Kwara Express closed for major restructuring, staff receive full benefits

The Kwara State Government has announced a temporary closure of Harmony Transport Services Ltd (HTSL), also known as Kwara Express, to allow for a complete overhaul aimed at boosting productivity and efficiency.

According to a statement obtain by The Informant247, signed by the management of Harmony Holdings Ltd, which oversees the state’s businesses, all workers of the struggling transport company will receive full exit benefits as part of the restructuring process. The government wished the employees well in their future endeavours.

The statement added that the planned reforms include modernising the company’s fleet and infrastructure, using advanced technology to improve both operational efficiency and customer service.

Harmony Holdings Ltd acknowledged that paying off workers was a difficult decision but stressed it was necessary to create a sustainable framework for the company.

Over the years, HTSL has faced growth challenges and multiple closures, while customer feedback has brought about the need for urgent improvements.

“All exit benefits for staff are currently being processed, and we appreciate their contributions to the company. Any former staff members interested in rejoining will be able to reapply after the overhaul,” the statement read.

Harmony Holdings Ltd also apologised to customers for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and assured the public that efforts are underway to make the transition as smooth as possible.
