Kwara Central NYP rep visits INFORMANT247, seeks partnership
As part of efforts to tone down the level of social vices among Kwaran youths, Abdulkareem AbdulKareem, the Kwara central representative at the Nigeria Youths Parliament, has described the media as one of the agents of national development.
He made this known during a courtesy visit to THE INFORMANT247 head office in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, to commemorate the occasion of Nigeria’s independence celebration.
Abdulkareem noted that the media which play a vital role in ensuring people make informed decisions can be used to sensitise the public on the consequence of the social vices which is fast becoming a norm, disclosing that a memo on youth inclusiveness in governance would be presented to the State House of Assembly next week.
In his reaction, the Publisher of THE INFORMANT247, Salihu Taofeek, expressed confidence in the roles media platforms in the state have been playing in driving human capital development while holding the government accountable.
He said, “THE INFORMANT247 is a medium where youths play powerful roles in national building. We have engaged a quite number of youths in the state. The perceived differences we have with the government is the belief that we are witch-hunting them, we are only playing our statutory duties, using the youth as agents of change.”
Salihu, therefore, commended the parliament for their effort towards the development and creating opportunity for youths in the state.
