Kwara Assembly member Owolabi extends charity to constituents

Hon. Owolabi Olatunde Rasaq, a member representing the Share/Oke Ode constituency in the Kwara House of Assembly has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.

In his response to the prevailing economic challenges exacerbated by subsidy removal, Hon. Owolabi, during a heartfelt tour of the 10 Wards under his constituency, commencing with Ilere Ward, Hon. Owolabi extended financial support to widows and the elderly, aiming to alleviate the hardships stemming from the economic downturn, while expressing his gratitude to the residents for their unwavering support during and after the elections.

In Ilere Ward, he paid a courtesy visit to Oba of Alabe, Oba Bamidele Aderonmu Sanni, Afetu of Alabe, and paid homage to Olu of Owode-Ofaro, Oba Abdulraheem Babatunde Ayilara, adhering to the tradition of providing financial aid to the elderly and widows.

One of the beneficiaries, Lydia Olaosebikan, who hailed from Oreke Oke-Igbo town, commended Hon. Owolabi’s consistent generosity while appealing to those yet to experience his benevolence to be patient.

On her part, the Iyalode Alabe of Alabe extended her appreciation to the State House member for his continuous support, while highlighting the rarity of representatives who prioritize the welfare of their constituents beyond election cycles.

Hon. Owolabi was showered prayers from Adeniyi Josua of Idera town and Iya Akeem Elegbe of Owode town, who are also beneficiaries while expressing gratitude for having a representative like him.

The Informant247 reports that Hon. Owolabi’s philanthropy had extended beyond the recent initiative, with a track record of impactful empowerment programs for constituents. In 2021, he distributed various items, including vehicles, grinding machines, sewing machines, sprayers, deep freezers, generators, and exercise books for schools. In 2022, he expanded these efforts by presenting an additional set of vehicles, bringing the total to 12.

During the presentations, Hon. Owolabi shared his commitment to his people, revealing that he had sold his house to fund these initiatives. He emphasized his dedication to fulfilling campaign promises and reassured constituents that more empowerment programs would follow, urging patience as he plans for future opportunities.
