Kwara APC suspends party chieftain, Iliyasu Moro, after criticising Gov Abdulrazaq

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro Local Government Area, Kwara State, has suspended Hon. Iliyasu Ibrahim of Oloru Ward indefinitely, barely 24 hours after he openly criticised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on a live radio programme.

Iliyasu, speaking on Monday during a programme on SBS 96.9 FM Ilorin, described his support for AbdulRazaq in the 2019 elections as “a grave mistake” for the people of Kwara State. He lamented that the much-celebrated ‘O to ge’ struggle had failed to deliver on its promises.

In a letter obtained by The Informant247 and signed by Mallam Jimoh Raji, Chairman of APC in Oloru Ward, the party accused Ibrahim of engaging in “anti-party and anti-government activities” over the past one and a half years.

The statement read, “In accordance with the relevant provisions of our Party constitution on discipline and misconduct of various kinds, and after due consideration of all the anti-party and anti-government activities of Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim from Oloru Ward of Moro Local Government Area in the last one and half years, we, the APC Stakeholders and Excos, have decided to suspend Hon. Iliasu Ibrahim indefinitely.

We hope the State Exco will uphold and ratify the action.”

The ward executives expressed confidence that the Kwara APC leadership will endorse the decision in the interest of party unity and discipline.
