IPMAN opens up on increament of petrol price
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has stated that there has been no official directive from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) to peg the price of petrol at ₦897 per litre.
As observed in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Tuesday, some NNPCL retail fuel stations have adjusted their pumps to reflect the price of N897 per litre.
However, speaking with Tribune Online on phone, IPMAN Chairman for Oyo, Osun States, and environs, Alhaji Bukola Mutiu, noted that independent petroleum marketers have not yet received an official directive from NNPCL to sell petrol at ₦897 per litre.
He said, “As I speak with you, we have yet to receive an official memo directing independent petroleum marketers to set the price of petrol at ₦897 per litre, although some NNPCL retail fuel stations have already made this adjustment.”
“We are waiting to hear from the NNPCL on the next course of action regarding the new pump price of petrol. I should also mention that, for some time now, private depots have stopped selling petrol to us,” he added
