Indiscriminate dumping of refuse now rampant in Ilorin – Kwara govt
The Kwara State Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge has expressed disapproval of the indiscriminate dumping of waste in the Ilorin metropolis, saying it has become an order of the day.
The commissioner also charged the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), to sustain a clean and hygienic environment, in Kwara State and the Nation at large.
In a statement signed by Press Secretary MOE, Kamaldeen Aliagan,
“The Commissioner gave the charge during the week, when she made an advocacy visit to the headquarters of the IEYDA, Adebimpe House, Edun street, Ilorin, the State Capital.
Buge said that, “Indiscriminate dumping has become an order of the day in Ilorin metropolis, therefore must be curbed, as it may lead to epidemics, which can wreck havocs on residents. In view of this, it is our collective responsibilities to sustain a cleaner Kwara and promote healthy living”.
