– Says Gov. AbdulRazaq Acted On Kwara Assembly Resolution

In a clear-eyed measure to beam a searchlight on some knotty issues and public backlashes that have trailed the eventual destruction of Ile Arugbo – a property which was said belonged to the Late Second Republic Senate Majority leader, Olusola Saraki in the wee hours of Thursday morning, 2nd January the trio of Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor, Mr. Ibrahim Abdulazeez, lawyer to the Saraki family and Mr. Jiti Ogunye, a legal practitioner appeared on Channels’s Politics Today.

Defending governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye said that the governor carried out the revocation of Ile Arugbo following a unanimous resolution of Kwara State House of Assembly before finally demolishing it.

He further maintained the land which was said belonged to Asa investment was without Certificate of Occupancy to authenticate the company as the rightful owner, nothing that the property belongs to all Kwarans.

Mr. Ogunye, in his submission, argued that government throughout the world has a right to revoke or obtain any land for public interest but not through coercion, adding that the Kwara State Government should have waited for court judgement before embarking on demolition of the edifice.

In his opinion, Mr. Ibrahim, however faulted Governor AbdulRazaq’s action, stressing that the case has been filed before a competent court of law for hearing.
