I suspended my rally in Rivers to save people’s lives — Atiku

The presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has revealed that his presidential ambition is not worth the blood of the people.

The presidential candidate made this revelation less than four days to the February 25 election.

The presidential candidate made this revelation while addressing members of the party in Rivers State in Abuja, after suspending his presidential rally in the state.

He added that the presidential campaign rally was suspended for the safety of the people of the state.

He promised to ensure that women are carried along in his governance, if elected in the forthcoming election.

Atiku said: “Our campaign and indeed the PDP subscribe fully to the position that no political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian.

“Rivers State and Rivers people are bound by destiny to be critical stakeholders and beneficiaries of the Atiku/Okowa presidency in multiple ways.

“The uncompleted rail line from Onne Port to join the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri rail line, which has been on the drawing board for decades, will be completed speedily, while the deep seaport in Bonny will receive immediate attention.”
