“I stand firmly behind President Tinubu” – Gov Soludo

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has reaffirmed his strong support for President Bola Tinubu, highlighting the President’s decisive economic reforms and structural changes as key motivators for his backing.

After meeting with President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Soludo urged progressive political parties to unite and work collaboratively to enhance democracy and drive social and economic development in Nigeria.

“The President is in such high spirits, hale and hearty, and it was such a pleasure to meet with him; it was quite a pleasant meeting,” Soludo remarked, reflecting on the successful engagement with the President.

Despite not being a member of the All Progressives Congress, Soludo emphasized the importance of friendship in politics. “President Tinubu is my friend; he has been my friend for 22 years now and counting, so you don’t deny your friend. I support him, and I’m impressed by the bold steps he has taken, particularly in the areas of the economy and the structural reforms,” he stated.

On the pressing issue of insecurity in Anambra, Soludo outlined his administration’s comprehensive approach. “In January this year, we passed our Homeland Security Law, which is trying to deal with insecurity from the foundations,” he explained, noting the proactive measures being taken to confront the challenges.

The governor also detailed the combination of kinetic and non-kinetic strategies being employed to tackle insecurity. “We have a unique one-year programme through skills that are like no other, where we trained and empowered about 5,000 youths,” he highlighted, also mentioning plans for further investment in youth empowerment.

In conclusion, Soludo stressed the comprehensive nature of his administration’s security strategies. “We’re also very intentional about the economic and social empowerment of the youth, and those who run foul of the law will be decisively dealt with,” he affirmed.
