Haaland makes History As Man City ‘lord’ Ten Hag Boys in Etihad

It was a Nine goal thriller encounter on Sunday when Manchester City defeated Manchester United 6-3 in the EPL match day 8 fixture.

Apart from the scoreline where the dominance of the Pep Boys reflected to the delight of many, it was also another day for Erling Haaland to make more history in his career.

While scoring an hat trick in the game saw him setting a new record of the first player to do it in a successive three home matches, the achievement also see him edging other past records as the only player to have scored the three goals in less appearances (8 games).

He is also the first Manchester City player to score a hat-trick versus Manchester United since Francis Lee in December 1970, and third overall (also Horace Barnes in Oct 1921)

The former Dortmund striker now also has the most goals in all competitions of any player in Europe’s top five leagues (17) including more Premier League goals (14) than 14 Premier league clubs as at Match day 8

With 17 goals already in all competitions for Man City, the Norwegian who also becomes the first player to be directly involved in 14 goals in their first 10 Premier League appearances is definitely going to break and set more record as the league progresses.

The victory over United now see the Citizen closing in on the gap between them and Arsenal who still maintain the top position on with 21 points, just a point different from that of Man City
