Gunmen burn down Imo high court, Saturday

The Imo State High court at Orlu council area of the state was on Saturday attacked and burn down by gunmen.

It was gathered that the complex building which houses the magistrates’ and high court was set on fire.

The files in the building were not spared.

The Police Public Relations Officer, in the state, CSP Mike Abattam, has confirmed the incident, saying the police has commenced an investigation into the incident.

One of the workers in the judicial sector who spoke as an anonymous frowned at the action, saying that the incident will affect judicial activities in Orlu judicial division as case files were consumed by fire.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Orlu branch, Barnabas Munonye, has confirmed the tragedy, saying it is “unfortunate”.
