‘Gov’t already approved free entry for fans’, Kwara United denies Senator Saliu Mustapha’s sponsorship claim

Kwara United has dismissed reports claiming that a senator sponsored free entry for fans to watch today’s NPFL Matchday 31 clash against Nasarawa United. The club clarified that the Kwara State Government had already approved free entry for the match.

In a statement issued by the Club Chairman, Mr. Kumbi Titiloye, through the General Manager, Mallam Bashir Badawiy, the club emphasized that no individual, group, or senator funded free access for spectators.

It would be recalled that the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial district, Senator Saliu Mustapha, had earlier on Wednesday announced free tickets for fans and spectators to watch the game following his purchase of the match ticket.

The match is set to take place this afternoon at 4 PM at the Rashidi Yekini Main Bowl, George Inih Stadium, Ilorin.

In the statement by the club, Badawiy urged all football lovers and supporters to take advantage of this opportunity and turn up in large numbers to cheer the Harmony Boys to victory and expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Sports Commission Chairman, Mallam Bola Magaji, for their steadfast support of sports development in the state.

“Fans are encouraged to mobilize, fill the stadium, and create an electrifying atmosphere as Kwara United aims for a crucial victory in this important fixture” the club statement added.

Similarly, the club in a statement signed by its Secretary, Prince Wale Obalola, further announced that it has now thrown the gates open for fans entry till the end of the season.

Obalola said the decision was reached following the recommendations reached at stakeholders meeting which was held at the conference room of the Kwara State Sports Commission on Tuesday, March 25.
