Gov AbdulRazaq joins Tinubu on France trip, promises to enhance bilateral ties on agriculture, education, others
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for a three-day State Visit to fortify Nigeria-France Relations.
The NGF Chairman, alongside his colleagues and other top government officials, received President Tinubu in Paris on Wednesday, where he was welcomed with full military honours by the French Republican Guard, according to Olayinka Fafoluyi ANIPR, ARPA, SSA, New Media to Kwara State Governor.
The Informant247 had earlier reported that the Nigerian President would, on Wednesday, depart Abuja on a three-day working visit to France in honour of an invitation from President Emmanuel Macron.
President Tinubu, who is now in France, was received alongside his wife, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu on Thursday at the 350-year-old French military museum, Les Invalides and Palais de l’Élysée, by Macron and his spouse, Brigitte, for initial ceremonies that will dovetail into bilateral meetings.
According to Fafoluyi, the visit aims to enhance bilateral ties by focusing on key areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition, adding that Governor AbdulRazaq’s presence in France will equally strengthen the economic, cultural, and political relationship that already exists between Kwara State and the French Government.
The Kwara State Government, under the leadership of Governor AbdulRazaq, has strong bilateral ties with France. In May 2023, the State received top delegations of the French government led by the Minister of State for Development, Francophonie and International Partnerships, Dr. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, in Ilorin.
During the visit, the Governor AbdulRazaq-led administration signed two major agreements with the French government on a strategic partnership involving the use of the Ilorin Innovation Hub established by the governor for knowledge transfer and the development of the Lata grazing reserve for large-scale livestock production.
Two years ago, the Cultural Attaché of Ambassador De France Au Nigeria (Cooperation & Cultural Affairs), Ms. Emmanuelle Harang, after visiting the sites of ongoing developmental projects in the State, lauded Governor AbdulRazaq’s exemplary leadership evident in his wise use of the state resources to secure a prosperous future for Kwara State.
