Gambo hands over to new Chief of Naval Staff Ogalla
The outgone Chief of Naval Staff, Awwal Gambo, on Friday, handed over to his successor, Emmanuel Ogalla.
It was learned that the handing-over ceremony took place at the naval headquarters in Abuja.
It could be recalled that earlier in the week, there were reports that Gambo refused to hand over to Ogalla.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Navy refuted the claims while stating that the process of handing over to a new administration is “procedural”.
“Suffice to state that handing and taking over ceremony in the Nigerian navy from inception is procedural,” Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, spokesperson of the navy, had said in a statement.
