Four suspected kidnappers of minor arrested in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command said it has arrested four middle-aged persons, who included three women, for allegedly attempting to kidnap a 10-year-old girl.

The spokesperson of the police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO who’s in charge of Ketu in Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos, received information about the attempted kidnap on Wednesday at about 3.00 p.m.

He revealed that it was reported that the three women were between the ages of 45 and 64, a man who’s 61 in age.

The victims who claimed to be an estate agent, were alleged to be child kidnappers.

“The reporter said that the four suspects accosted her 10 years old daughter along Ikosi Road Ketu.

“She said the suspects allegedly dispossessed her daughter of her valuables and attempted to abduct and take her to an unknown destination.

“In the process, an angry mob who sensed their criminal act challenged and beat them thoroughly,” he said.

The spokesperson of the police in the state revealed that based on the available information, a team of police officers were moved to the affected scene to secure the freedom of the victim.

The spokesperson explained that the suspected kidnappers have been moved into protective custody.

The spokesperson of the police in the state also said investigation into the case had been begun and was moving on.
