Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Peter Rufai passes on
Peter Rufai, the former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, has been reported dead.
Dodomayana, as he was fondly called, died on Thursday at the age of 61 after battling a prolonged sickness.
The Super Eagles via its X handle, confirmed the death of the legendary shot stopper, saying, “We mourn the passing of legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai, a giant of Nigerian football and a 1994 AFCON champion.”
“Your legacy lives on between the sticks and beyond. Rest well, Peter Rufai.”
Rufai was part of the Super Eagles team that won the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
