Former Kwara TV GM, OOLAT, declares for Kwara South senate seat, begins LG tours
Former General Manager of Kwara Television, Oyeyiola Olatunde Micheals, popularly known as OOLAT, has formally declared his intention to contest the Kwara South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
OOLAT made his ambition public earlier this week as he commenced a seven–local government stakeholders and party consultation tour across the senatorial district.
The tour, according to him, is aimed at engaging leaders, party members and grassroots stakeholders ahead of his senatorial bid.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, OOLAT said his aspiration is driven by the need to effectively represent the interests of the people of Kwara South and contribute to the overall development of Kwara State at the national level.

“Earlier this week, we kicked off our seven local governments senatorial stakeholders and party consultation tour to declare my intention to represent the interests of our people in Kwara South and Kwara State at large in the Senate come 2027,” he said.
The former Kwara TV boss expressed appreciation for the reception he received during visits to Irepodun Local Government, particularly Omu-Aran, as well as Oyun Local Government in Erin-Ile, noting that the support and endorsements from community members and stakeholders were encouraging.
“My team and I sincerely appreciate the warm reception, cooperation, and endorsements from my Irepodun community in Omu-Aran and Oyun Local Government in Erin-Ile,” OOLAT stated.
He also thanked traditional and political leaders, party faithful, women and youths who turned out in large numbers to support his declaration, describing their show of solidarity as a boost to his resolve.
“The tour continues, and by God’s grace, this journey which started in the interest of our people will come to fruition,” he added.
