Former Kogi Gov Yahaya Bello honours EFCC invitation

Yahaya Bello, the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, has honoured the invitation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Informant247 gathered according to the media office of the former governor in a statement on Wednesday, saying the decision was made after consultations with his family, legal team and political allies.

The Informant247 had reported in April how EFCC had declared Bello wanted after he reportedly shunned a series of invitations and resisted arrest in his Abuja residence.

The statement reads, “It is our hope that the Commission will be as professional as necessary and respect his fundamental rights as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Ohiare added that the details of Bello’s engagement with the anti-graft agency’s operatives would be disclosed later.

However, EFCC has yet to comment on the development.
