Finidi George unveiled as Rivers United Technical Adviser
Following his resignation as Super Eagles Head Coach, Finidi George has landed a new job as the Technical Adviser of Rivers United.
Finidi left Enyimba International last season to handle the Super Eagles but decided to resign after 2 games from the 2026 World Cup qualifier.
His resignation from the Super Eagles is not unconnected with the decision of the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) to appoint a foreign Technical Adviser who will take charge of the team while Finidi is demoted as Assistant Coach.
While the dotted line was signed between Finidi and Rivers United on Wednesday, he was later formally unveiled to the fans of the club on Thursday amid pomp and pageantry.
Recall that the Pride of Rivers relieved Stanley Eguma as the technical adviser of the team during last season and coach Evans Ogenyi was appointed on an interim basis.
Reports have it that the coach signed a 2-year deal under which he is expected to return the team to their glory days and secure a continental ticket.
Finidi George is also an indigene of Rivers State and will have the luxury of being an ‘home boy’ as begins his era.
