FG approves N147bn for dualisation of Ibadan-Ilorin road section two
The Federal Government has approved the dualisation of Section Two of the Ibadan-Ilorin Road, allocating N147 billion for the project as part of its broader efforts to enhance road infrastructure across the country.
The approval was granted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday, where a total of N733 billion was earmarked for four major road projects inherited from the previous administration.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, who announced the decision, said the dualisation of the 147-kilometer Ibadan-Ilorin Road Section Two would be executed using reinforced concrete pavement for enhanced durability. The contract has been awarded to GRVe Construction Ltd.
Other projects approved include the completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road (N507 billion), the dualisation of the Odupani-Itu-Idedem Item-Ikot Ekpene road (N55 billion), and the construction of a flyover at Abakpa, Enugu (N24 billion).
Umahi assured that the approvals followed a rigorous review process to align with the government’s infrastructure priorities, emphasizing the commitment to delivering long-lasting and efficient road networks.
