FCC chair: Ex-Osun lawmaker Omidiran hails Tinubu, Oyetola for aiding her appointment

Less than 24 hours after her dramatic appointment as the new Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Ayo Omidiran expressed her heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for selecting her for the role.

Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives from Osun State and a dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealed two key supporters behind her appointment.

In a post on her Facebook page, Omidira acknowledged Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and his wife, Kafayat Oyetola, as pivotal figures who recommended her to Tinubu.

She wrote: “Grateful, for the nomination, Mr. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the recommendation, H.E Adegboyega Oyetola, for staying true to sisterhood, H.E Kafayat Oyetola, and to God, the Almighty, for everything. Alhamdulillah Robbi li alameen.”

Reports surfaced late Monday night stating that President Tinubu had appointed Omidiran as the new Executive Chairman of the FCC, just hours after reappointing the former chairman of the Commission.

According to a statement from presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Omidiran takes over from Dr. Muheeba Dankaka of Kwara State, whose tenure was described as controversial by the Presidency.
