Ex-Kwara commissioner, Harriet-Afolabi donates boreholes to Ifelodun communities

…hails Gov AbdulRazaq 2 years’ achievements

The residents of at Deseni, Ora and Sani-koro communities in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State on Monday heaved a sigh of relief when a completed water project was handed over to them by the former Kwara state Commissioner for Information, Hon Harriet Adenike Afolabi-Osatimehin.

Noting that the gesture was informed by her people’s complaints over inaccessibility to portable water and in support Gov. AbdulRazaq’s drive towards lifting the vulnerable out of poverty, she also distributed ten (10) sewing and grinding machines to people across Ora ward.

Speaking at a special prayer and empowerment program in commemoration of Gov. AbdulRazaq’s two years in office, at Ora, Ifelodun LG on Monday, Oshatimehin said, “The Governor has changed the narratives of the area by implementing quality projects, empowering graduates, distributing food items and touching vulnerable lives through Social Investment programmes code name Ijoba Mekunnu.

“My people came to me complaining bitterly about how terrible and hard it is to get water to drink and to use. I had no choice than making sure they get good portable water, thereby extending the good governance of His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

“I urge Kwarans to keep faith with Gov. Abdulrazaq due to his people’s focused programmes and policies, raising governance bar and bringing government closer to the people.”

In their separate remarks, Sen. Makanjuola Ajadi, Olora of Ora Oba Adebayo Akolade. Chief Imam of Ora, Abdullateef Salaudeen and Rev Dr. F.O. Olufemi applauded Gov. AbdulRazaq for making history in Ora by appointing a commissioner from the town and prayed fervently for the success of the current administration.

The beneficiaries appreciated Hon. Harriet Afolabi Oshatimehin for her consistent support for the people and contributions toward community development.
