Emefiele suspension: Tinubu is not here to play, says Deji Adeyanju
Deji Adeyanju, the Convener of Concerned Nigerians, reacted to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision over the suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.
The Informant247 had reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Friday, suspended Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank Governor, from office with immediate effect.
According to Willie Bassey, the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, in a statement, said that the suspension of the CBN governor was based on the investigation as well as the planned reforms in the financial sector.
Bassey added that Emefiele had been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.
The statement partly read, ” President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, from office with immediate effect
“This is sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
“Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.”
Meanwhile, Adeyanju, while reacting in a tweet via his Twitter handle, said that Tinubu is not here to play, adding that he likes Emefiele’s suspension.
He tweeted, “President Tinubu suspends Emefiele. Tinubu is not here to play, I like it.”
