Elevate Her 2.0 begins today, inspiring next generation of female leaders in Kwara

The Eagles Foundation for Humanity, in collaboration with the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Kwara JCC, is set to launch Elevate Her 2.0, a transformative leadership development program for young women across Kwara State.

Building on the success of the inaugural Elevate Her 1.0 held in October 2024, the second edition expands its scope, offering participants advanced training in leadership, advocacy, and community engagement. The program is supported by the Emerging Political Leaders Fellowship and the Young Political Leadership School Africa.

The initiative will commence with virtual sessions from August 2 to September 23, 2025, culminating in a three-day in-person training from September 23 to 25, 2025, in Ilorin. This year’s cohort includes 19 female participants drawn from eight tertiary institutions in Kwara State: University of Ilorin, Kwara State University, Kwara Polytechnic, Federal Polytechnic Offa, Al-Hikmah University, Kwara State College of Health Technology, Kwara State College of Education, and Kwara State College of Nursing, Ilorin.

The virtual training will feature an array of seasoned facilitators, including Alh. Suraj Oyewale Jarus, CEO of Jarus Homes & Investment; H.E. Josephine A. Nkrumah, Resident Representative of the ECOWAS Commission in Liberia; Saadatu Bibire, Digital Communications Strategist; Hon. Rinsola Abiola, SSA to the President on Citizenship and Leadership; Hon. Kemi Asekun, former Minister of Solid Minerals Development; Prin. Alexa Vanjakiholie of Freedom TV; Aishat Adeyemi, KwaraPoly SUG SRC; and Adebayo Aminat, former Vice Chairperson of Kwara NANS and alumna of Elevate Her 1.0. Also on the list is Mary Kerkula, President of the Interim Student Union at the University of Liberia.

The physical phase will feature additional experts, reinforcing the program’s mission of shaping confident, capable female leaders in Kwara State. Organizers say the initiative aims to inspire participants to break barriers, lead change, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
