EFCC nabs brothers, 24 others over internet fraud in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended two brothers, Lateef Afeez Abiodun and Lateef Abdullahi Olalekan, over alleged fraud.

The Head of Media of the anti financial crime agency, Wilson Uwujaren, made the announcement of the operation through a statement on Wednesday.

The suspected fraudsters were caught alongside 24 others suspects of internet-related fraud in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state.

The suspected fraudsters were arrested at the Apete area following intelligence report which got to the commission.

Others suspected fraudsters are Awotunde Joseph Sunday, Ojekunle Ifakorede Apesinola, Oladepo Kayode Samuel, Emmanuel Michael Blessing, Shittu Hassan Taiwo, Olubanji Michael Remilekan, Bakari Ibrahim Oluwatosin.

Ahmad Sodiq Adekola, Joshua Sowemimo, Adeleke Adegoke Yusuf and Ahmad Ridwan Adeniyi, Lawal Ayomide Alani, Olayiwola David Olateju, Quincy Okonma, Omotayo Bright Happiness, Okunlaja Joshua Opeyemi.

Also among them were Olasantan Adewola Seyifunmi, John Uroko Amuta, Olaoye Ifasola Ifasegun and Ayomide Adeleke Olamilekan, Nafiu Hassan Ayomide, Shittu Toheeb Ife, Kehinde Abiodun and Ibikunle Lolade Tanimola.

The anti graft agency said that laptops, a car, and different fashions of phones were recovered from the suspected fraudsters.

The suspects, according to Uwujaren will be dragged to court as soon as investigations are carried out.
