Edo Gov suspends traditional ruler amid surge in violence and kidnappings

Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has suspended the Okumagbe of Uwano Kingdom, Dr. George Egabor, following a series of alarming incidents involving kidnapping and killings in the region. The announcement was made in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor in Benin City.
The indefinite suspension reflects the state government’s concern over the deteriorating security situation within the kingdom.
