Easter: Police assure Kwara residents of safety, deploy 2000 personnel
The Police in Kwara have assured residents of the state of adequate security during the Easter celebrations.
The command’s spokesman, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, in a statement issued on Thursday in Ilorin, said no fewer than 2000 personnel have been deployed to ensure a hitch free celebrations in the state.
He quoted the commissioner of police as urging residents to go about their lawful business and likewise make information available to the police if faced with any challenges as 2000 conventional and Tactical Units operatives have been deployed for the operation throughout the state.
The statement also cautioned commercial drivers against reckless driving, drunkenness, acrobatic display, adding that policemen deployed for the celebration are aware of their rules of engagement while also being warned of the need to respect the fundamental rights of the citizens.
