DTO, Ogbeni Adewara foundations support Kwara free medical service, commend Gov. Abdulrazaq

Dr.Toba Oloyede(DTO) and Ogbeni Adewara foundations, have both commended the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his effort in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The foundations, whose members were all out on Thursday at the Primary Health Centre,Osi in Ekiti local government area of the state to support the ongoing free medical and surgery exercise restated their commitment to continue to support the government in all its activities.

During the exercise, the foundations provided basic needs like transportation, canopies, chairs and refreshement to ensure a smooth delivery of the service to all the beneficiaries who all trooped out in their large numbers.

Barrister Abiola Ibrahim, the programme officer of the DTO foundation while speaking at the venue of the outreach described the ongoing free medical and surgery exercise across the 16 local governments in Kwara State as a watershed in the history of the state.

He noted that adequate health care delivery is one of the key priorities of the foundation, hence the need to support the government.

“All the members of our foundation are here today to provide basic support for this programme to be successful. We are delighted that people came out to enjoy this great and rare gesture from Governor Abdulrahman and will continue to support every of the activities geared towards the betterment of the society'” he said.

In his own remark, Segun Adewara of Ogbeni Adewara foundation commended Governor Abdulrahman for his commitment to the development of the state.

He stated that the support to the state government will enhance an optimal delivery of the programme and ensure it has a far reaching effects on the people.

He said, “We are proud to be associated with this programme. We believe that it will have so much impacts on the people across the state and will also mitigate some of the health challenges affecting the society.”

The Transition Committee(TIC) Chairman of Ekiti local government, Honourable Kehinde Bayode lauded the foundations for the initiative and urged all the people to seize the golden opportunity of the free health care delivery.

The foundations have also intensified the call for the people to join the train of the free medical services as it continues to move across the State.

Beneficiaries who spoke at the health centre thanked Governor Abdulrahman for his masses oriented programmes.

The duo of Alasi Joseph, a retired civil servant and Alasi Comfort noted that the drugs given to them will improve their health.

“The medical officials attended to us very well and they also gave us drugs which we normally buy at high prices for free. This will really have a great impact on our health especially now that the economic situation has made it difficult for us to purchase most of the drugs outside.

Some of the services rendered by the medical officials from the Kwara State Ministry of health include medical consultation, eye surgery and distribution of drugs amongst other things.
