Dr Waheed Balogun installed as Asiwaju of Idofian kingdom, expresses gratitude
Dr Waheed Amodu Balogun has officially assumed the revered title of Asiwaju of Idofian Kingdom, following a grand installation ceremony on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The event, held in the presence of traditional rulers, dignitaries and community members, was presided over by His Royal Majesty, Oba Muhammad Jamiu Olanrewaju Adedamola, the Oludofian of Idofian Kingdom.
In an emotional speech, Dr Balogun expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all who contributed to the success of the occasion. “I am overwhelmed by the love, support, and prayers I have received. This day will remain unforgettable,” he said.
He thanked His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by Alhaji Saadudeen Salaudeen, for his support and dedication to the progress of Kwara State and its communities.
He also extended gratitude to Hon. Femi AbdulRasheed Yusuf, the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government, for his contributions to the event.
Dr Balogun acknowledged the efforts of religious leaders, traditional rulers, and members of the Idofian Kingdom for their unity and commitment to community development.
He also appreciated corporate organisations, alumni of his alma maters, and the Idofian Community Development Associations for their roles in making the event a success.
He commended the Planning Committee for their dedication and organisation, while reserving special thanks for his family, whom he described as his “pillar of strength.”
Dr Balogun pledged to use his new role to foster peace, unity, and progress in the kingdom, urging all stakeholders to work together for the community’s development.
“This installation is not just about me; it is a celebration of the unity and greatness of Idofian Kingdom. Together, we will achieve even greater heights,” he concluded.
