Don’t behave like ASUU, Ngige warns CONUA as FG concludes union’s registration
The federal government has told the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) not to behave like the Congress of University Academics (CONUA).
This came as the federal government finalises the registration process of the breakaway faction of ASUU.
The leadership of the newly emerged association on Tuesday had a closed door meeting with Chris Ngige, the minister of labour and employment, in Abuja.
While addressing newsmen after the meeting, the minister told the faction not to “behave like ASUU”.
The national coordinator of the union, Niyi Sunmonu, confirmed the meeting to TheCable.
“Yes, we met with the minister (Ngige) today. There was a presentation of certificate of registration to CONUA. This means the registration of our union has been finalised by the government,” he said.
