Dangote refinery cuts petrol price by N30, sells at N820/litre
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in its ex-gantry price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, bringing it down to N820 per litre.
Anthony Chiejina, the group chief branding and communications officer, made this disclosure on Tuesday.
Chiejina stated that the new price reflects a decrease from N850 to N820 per litre, effective August 12, 2025, emphasising that the new price adjustment aligns with the refinery’s commitment to fostering national development and ensuring an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products.
“Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, by N30.00, from N850 to N820 per litre, effective from 12th August 2025,” Chiejina remarked.
“As part of our unwavering commitment to national development, we assure the public of a consistent and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products.”
Chiejina also revealed that the refinery plans to deploy 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution nationwide starting from August 15, 2025.
“In line with our dedication to operational excellence and sustainable energy solutions, Dangote Petroleum Refinery will commence the phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution across Nigeria, effective August 15, 2025,” he explained.
Previously, on August 6, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited had reduced petrol prices at its retail outlets to N875 per litre in Lagos and N900 in Abuja.
