COVID-19: Kwara deputy gov shuts MTN annex, orders arrest of head
The Kwara State Deputy Governor and chairman of the state coronavirus taskforce committe, Kayode Alabi, on Saturday, shut down ISon BPO’s call centre, an MTN partnering company, for defying governmnet’s lockdown directives by opening office.
According to witness, ISon BPO is said to have opened for business with more than 100 working staff in the early hours of today in Ilorin, the Kwara state Capital.
However, thing didn’t went as expected when the deputy governor bursted the venue with security officials.
The deputy governor was said to have directed the immediate shuting down of the office and ordered the arrest of the office union head.
Recall that the state government had imposed a partial lockdown from 6 am on Thursday 26th March 2020 as a preventive measure against the spread of Coronavirus.
