Coach Dogo pens 3-year deal with Kwara United as Technical Adviser
Kwara United has officially unveiled Coach Kabiru Suleiman Dogo as the Technical Adviser of the club.
The unveiling ceremony which was held at the Secretariat of the team in Ilorin on Tuesday was done in the full glare of the media, management and stakeholders of the club.
Speaking at the brief event, the General Manager(GM) of the club, Bashir Badawiy said that the unveiling was done in keeping up the standard of the club as a reputable brand even as he noted that the appointment of the Coach was made few weeks ago.
“This unveiling is like a ritual for us.Coach Kabiru Dogo is one of our own and we must give him the respect” said the GM as he expressed belief in the new gaffer to deliver for the club.
Badawiy, who revealed that the Coach was handed a 3-year contract added that the management will try as much as possible to support him in order to succeed.
He thanked the State government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for its support on the club and promised that the management will not relent on its oars to take the team to an enviable heights.
In his own remarks, Coach Dogo, who noted that it’s a dream for every Coach and player to work for Kwara United giving its antecedent as one of the big outfits in the country thanked the management for giving him the opportunity to serve his State.
“I want to assure everybody that by God’s grace during our time, Kwara United will continue to progress and achieve more”.
The former Wikki Tourists gaffer revealed that his immediate target is to secure stability for the club, adding that the team is repleted with experienced and young players that can be explored to get results nothwithstanding the need to add few legs.
“What I met on the ground in the team is good. We only need to change their mentality, psyche them up and change their attitude towards work- and they are now responding well”
While commending his predecessors for what they have done for the club, the tactician said he would leverage on their achievements as he sets out to take the club to the highest level.
Meanwhile, Kwara United are currently sitting
8th position on the log of the 10-teams-tied Group A of the NPFL abridged-league with Nine points from 9 games after the first stanza of the league.
The club which currently hosts their home games at the Lekan Salami Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan will be hoping to turn things around for good when the NPFL gets back on track after the election break.
