The presiding judge, Hon. Justice E.B. Mohammed, ordered that the defendants be held in Oke-Kura correctional facility after they appeared before the court for arraignment on a 3-count criminal charges filed by the Kwara State Government.

The trio is accused of making derogatory and allegedly false claims against the Mutawali of Ilorin, Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, during a programme aired on SBS 96.9 FM.

According to the charge sheet dated December 17, 2025, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ayoola Idowu Akande, the defendants allegedly made statements capable of inciting the public against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The government is prosecuting the case under Sections 97, 114 and 399 of the Penal Code, Cap. P4, Laws of Kwara State, 2006.

However, at Tuesday’s sitting, Illiasu appeared in court alongside the two other defendants.

Following proceedings, Justice Mohammed ordered their remand and adjourned the matter to April 25, 2026, for further hearing.
