Birthday celebrant, musician, others arrested for taffic obstruction in Lagos

Lagos State Government officials have arrested a birthday celebrant, along with a musician and vendor, for allegedly obstructing traffic and causing environmental disruption during a birthday party in Ikoyi.

The incident took place on Saturday when the group reportedly blocked Raymond Njoku Road, leading to traffic congestion and public disturbance.

The arrests were confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, in a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Those arrested include Omolara Ajetumobi, the event planner; Ogundare Olubunmi, the celebrant; Ayodele Busuyi, the musician; Owoeye Adedayo, the sound engineer; and Akinola Akinkunmi, a vendor at the event.

Wahab stated that the suspects will face prosecution in line with Lagos State laws.

“The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be allowed to violate State regulations,” Wahab emphasized in his post.
