Bello emerges new chairman of Ilorin NBA
The Ilorin branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has elected Mr. AbdulGaniyu Bello to succeed its incumbent Chairman, Mr. Muhammed Akande.
Bello emerged the winner of the NBA election conducted through electronic voting on Friday, June 26th, 2020.
In the election report obtained by THE INFORMANT247, the association’s electoral committee said Bello polled 98 voted to emerge winner ahead of his opponent, Abiodun Dada, who polled 74 votes.
The new chairman graduated from Usman Danfodio University in 1998 where he studied Common and Islamic Law. Afterwards, he proceeded to the Law School in 1999 and was called to the Nigerian Bar subsequently. He is a notary public.
Bello served at various levels of the NBA. He was Financial Secretary between 2005 to 2007. He was secretary of the Bar. He was also NBA Chairman Electoral Committee in the year 2003 election, statutory member of the Bar between year 2007 and 2009 among several other offices held in the association.
