Bandits demand N10m to release dead body of kidnapped victim in Kaduna

Bandits are requesting ransom of N10million ransom before they could release the dear body of one Obadiah Ibrahim who was abducted in Sabon Gaya, in early October.

A brother to the victim, Kefas Obadiah, the bandits had already collected the sum of N3 million as ransom.

He expressed sadness over the abduction of his brother while em route Kaduna from Abuja at a village, Sabon Gaya early October.

He said the bandits refused to set his brother free even after collecting N3 million.

Kefas said the passing of his late brother was publicized on Thursday.

He added earlier that the bandits requested N200 million.

He said: “They later came down to N5 million and 3 motorbikes and later collected one bike. After collecting a bike, we didn’t hear from them again. We tried to communicate with them but unfortunately, we were unable.”

He narrated that when the negotiator communicated the bandits on Thursday, the bandits said victim has given up the ghost.

He added that they initially thought the bandits were making fun but when they continued to disturb them with further calls, the bandits issued threats that they would track the caller and deal with him if he did not stop disturbing them with calls.

He also explained that the bandits said that they killed their brother to retaliate the killing of their men by the law enforcement agencies.

Ibrahim said that the bandits are requesting for N10 million to immediately secure the release of the corpse, stressing that the bandits could not work free of charge.
