Bandits attack another Kwara village,abduct four Farmers

Less than 24-hours after Bandits attacked Eruku Church in Kwara State, Bandits have reportedly again staged a brazen attack on farmers in Bokungi village, Edu Local Government Area, kidnapping four individuals on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM on Wednesday as the farmers were working on their rice farmlands during the harvest period.

Nupekotv confirmed the attack after speaking with a resident of the community who narrated the frightening sequence of events.

According to the source, the victims were at their farmlands to retrieve harvested rice when the bandits struck. The resident explained that the assailants attacked two separate groups:

The first attack resulted in the abduction of two people who were packaging their harvested rice.


Shortly thereafter, the bandits abducted another two people from a neighboring farm making it four people who were taken captive in the coordinated attack.

The attack has thrown the Bokungi community into a state of panic, marking a devastating conclusion to the harvest season for the victims’ families.

As of the time of filing this report, the identities of the victims have not been officially disclosed, and there is no immediate confirmation from the Kwara State Police Command.

The Southern and northern part of Kwara State continue to face increasing bandits attack, causing fear and disruption to their socioeconomic activities.

Meanwhile, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the deployment of additional troop to the State on the heels of the increased Bandits attack while the State government has also ordered special security architecture to take hold in five local government to protect school children as part of preventive measures.
