Atiku meets Wike after presidential primary, seeks support

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Monday met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.

The Informant247 had reported that the former vice president (Atiku) defeated the former state minister of education (Wike) and other presidential aspirants to clinch the party’s presidential ticket on Saturday.

Atiku gathered 371 votes to defeat Wike, who was able to come up with 237 votes at the presidential primary which took place at Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on Saturday.

The flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, Monday morning, met with the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in Abuja.

Atiku’s spokesperson, Mr. Paul Ibe, has described the meeting as part of the promise to interact with all the stakeholders of the party after the presidential primary election.

Ibe said the visit is a sign that, “The PDP flagbearer is already working his talk”.

The meeting had in attendance many party chieftains including a former Ekiti State Governor and presidential aspirant, Ayodele Fayose.
