Army to begin shooting exercise in Abia
According to army source, the 82 Division of the Nigeria Army, will on Wednesday, May 4, start camping for a competition of shooting at the headquarters of the 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Abia State.
14 Brigade Public Relations Officer, Lieutenant Innocent Omale, via a statement said the shooting competition would last for two weeks.
The statement which was made available to newsmen, said the competition would entail shooting of live ammunition at the range site.
It partly reads: ”The exercise is to prepare contingents of 82 Division for the forthcoming shooting competition with other Divisions soon.”
The statement however urged the general populace especially residents of the communities around the barracks not to nurse any fear on hearing sounds of gunshots.
It also warned farmers to stay away from the designated area for the period of the shooting competition.
