Ancelloti berates Real Madrid performance in loss to Villarreal

Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelloti said Villarreal deserved their win in the La Liga match played on Saturday.

Madrid lost the chance to go top of La Liga after losing 2-1 to the yellow submarine in a tough soaked encounter.

Ancelloti who said the game was ‘evenly competed’ noted that his boys were tactically poor in the defense, hence the opportunity for their hosts to do a lot of things with the ball.

“I think it was an even and competitive game, but Villarreal were better than us. So, they deserved to win. It wasn’t a good game from us, especially defensively. We didn’t defend well, we weren’t compact, they could play many balls between the lines and we were too open when in low block. The back four and the midfield struggled”

The manager noted that his boys would have to improve on their game going forward.

“We were dangerous in some aspects, but we didn’t have as much control as we usually do. We need to work hard to solve these problems.” he quipped.
