All you need to know about Chelsea’s new shirt sponsor deal
Infinite Athlete will be Chelsea front of shirt sponsor this season.
Chelsea agreed a deal worth over £40m US-based data company, whose name will be on Chelsea shirts from Sunday.
The manifestation of the deal will see Chelsea women’s team kick off their WSL campaign against Tottenham on Sunday evening while the men’s team will follow on Monday when they face Fulham away from home.
The brand will also appear on the sleeves of Chelsea’s training kit.
Chelsea’s deal with mobile company Three expired last summer and the club had been searching for a new sponsor.
The deal provides a financial boost for Chelsea. Infinite Athlete is the parent company of another Chelsea partner Tempus Ex.
The company had initially partnered with Chelsea earlier this year and have plans to become a major player in world football – supplying affordable player data to clubs and allowing fans to watch games from multiple camera angles.
Chelsea CEO Chris Jurasek said: ‘We have a like-minded partner in Infinite Athlete. The speed at which our relationship has grown, alongside the evolution of Infinite Athlete’s business, made this an obvious extension to our partnership.
‘Infinite Athlete has the potential to revolutionise the world of football and global sports, particularly when it comes to fans wanting to consume more match and player data and control their own viewing experience, while also providing players and coaches with insights and analytics that can help with player performance, health and safety.
