Air Peace blames Oshiomhole for operational disruption after missed flight

Air Peace has criticized the “unruly conduct” of Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing Edo North, after an incident at the Zulu Hall in Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1.

Two videos that emerged on X on Wednesday showed Oshiomhole addressing an airport official and later sitting in front of a terminal gate. Air Peace asserted that his behavior disrupted airport operations after he missed his scheduled flight.

“The prominent individual in question arrived at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 1 (Zulu Hall) at approximately 06:10 AM for Flight P47120, which was scheduled to depart Lagos for Abuja at 06:30 AM,” the airline stated.

“In line with our standard on-time departure policy, the boarding process had closed, and the flight departed as scheduled. Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance.”

Air Peace termed the senator’s actions “unacceptable,” noting that they caused significant disruption to other passengers. The airline then enacted an operational contingency plan to ensure that affected travelers could board through an alternate terminal.

“We are deeply saddened that such a high-profile figure displayed conduct so unbecoming and disruptive to fellow passengers and our personnel,” the airline added.

Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against violence, urging all guests to maintain civility and cooperation. “Aviation operations are bound by strict timelines and safety protocols, and we remain committed to upholding these standards while delivering safe and timely services to the Nigerian public,” the statement remarked.

The airline concluded by reiterating its commitment to discipline, integrity, and respect for due process, stating, “No individual is above these values.”
