After PUNCH report, Kwara Gov directs immediate constitution of minimum wage committee

Few hours after The PUNCH report of the Kwara state government failing to set up minimun wage panel was published, the state governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has directed the immediate constitution of the committee.

The report quoted the NLC Deputy Chairman in the state, Alhaji Yusuf Salihu, to have confirmed that the governor was yet to constitute a negotiation team, stating that the workers were optimistic that the government would implement the new minimum wage in the state.

However, while reacting to this, the spokesman of the Governor Rafiu Ajakaye said, “The Head of Service has been directed to work out the modalities of the workings of the panel.”
