The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been drawn against Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in the round of 16 stage at the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon. Nigeria had emerged the leader of Group D with Nine maximum points from three games to reach the knock-out stage of the African Mundial.

Tunisia, who grabbed one of the ‘best losers’ tickets for the next round finished third in group F with three points behind Mali and Gambia who has seven points each.

While a recent International friendly game between the two sides ended 1 goal apiece, the Tunisian team will not also forget quickly how the Eagles snatched away the bronze medal from them in the last AFCON in Egypt.

Recall that Odion Ighalo, who couldn’t make it to this year’s continental Mundial at the instance of Saudi Club scored the lone goal for the Eagles in the third-place final against the North African side in 2019.

The round of 16 game is now scheduled for Stade Roumdé Adjia Garoua in Cameroon on Sunday at 8pm.

The winner between Nigeria and Tunisia will face the winner between Burkinafaso and Gabon in the quarter-final of the game.
