ABS FC relegated from the Nigeria National League
Abubakar Bukola Saraki(ABS) FC has relegated from the Nigeria National League(NNL) to Nationwide League One(NLO)
The club’s relegation status was confirmed on Thursday after losing their last game of the NNL releagtion playoff in Kano to FWC Champions 2-1.
ABS FC failed to win a match in the playoff which was held at the Sanni Abacha Stadium in Kano. The team drew 1-1 in their first game with Adamawa United and lost 2-1 to Sokoto United in their second game.
While Sokoto United and Adamawa United emerged from group A to remain in the league, Smart City FC and Ikorodu City FC were also able to retain their NNL status.
Other teams who got relegated alongside ABS FC are FWC Champions, Henserd FC and Edel FC.

ABS FC relegated from the Nigeria Premier League in the 2016-17 season their second stint at the elite division. The club First promoted to the Nigeria Premier Football League in the 2009-10 season.
Meanwhile, the management of the club has assured its teeming fans that the club would make a quick return to the nation’s 2nd tier league.
The Director of Football in the club, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka said that a lot of factors contributed to the team’s poor run but was optimistic that the club will bounce back soonest
“Yes though not the expected result, but be rest assured that with the right time and right atmosphere we will stage a quick come back”, he said.
“We have a strong football structure that supports the growth of football, we have a lot of good players of ABS FC products scattered across the country and beyond, then you wonder how such a club will be down”.
“So we are very much aware of such issues and we are ever ready to manoeuvre them and regain our rightful position in the nearest future” Chukwuemeka said
