Abia’s Otti sacks revenue contractors
Alex Otti, the Abia State Governor has sacked all revenue enforcers in the market.
In a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Mr Kasie Ukoh, said the decision was aimed at sanitizing systems of revenue collection in the transport sector and the markets while directing all affected persons to return government property in their possession to the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internationally Generated Revenue and Digital Transformation.
The statement also stated that the Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue would advise on the State government ‘s next plan in that direction.
In the last one week, the new government in Abia State has been going tough on revenue collectors and touts in the State, a development being supported by transporters and traders.
