7 abducted Kwara construction workers released
The seven construction workers abducted in Owa Onire community, Ifelodun Local Government Area, have regained their freedom.
Among those freed were two engineers employed by the Kwara State Ministry of Works, whose abduction had sparked concern across the state.
The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, confirmed their release in a statement issued on Monday, expressing gratitude for the safe return of the workers.
Olododo praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and security agencies for their relentless efforts to enhance public safety and combat banditry and terrorism in the state.
“We are grateful to His Excellency and to the security agencies. We also appreciate everyone who stood by us in these trying times,” he stated.
The development marks a hopeful turn in the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen security and protect residents from criminal elements.
