32 Kano-bound travellers from Osun intercepted at Erin-Ile

At least 32 travellers en route Kano State from Osun State have been intercepted in Erin-Ile, Osun-Kwara boundary, THE INFORMANT247 reports.

It was gathered that the travellers, who reportedly came from Ilesha in Osun were heading for Kano.

THE INFORMANT247 learnt that the bus with registration number Kano XA 725 BCH conveying the travellers was accost at Erinle by men of the Nigeria Navy and handed over to the police for prosecution.

In the meantime, security operatives also intercepted no fewer than 13 travellers going to Lagos from Offa.

Kwara, located in the North Central region of Nigeria, is one of the gateway states between the core North and Southern Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari had on April 27, ordered a ban on non-essential inter-state passenger travel until further notice as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease which is said to be at the community transmission stage in the country.
