2026 WCQ: Super Eagles share spoils with Zimbabwe
The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday again played a 1-1 draw with Crocodile Warriors of Zimbabwe in their second game of the 2026 World Cup qualifying series played in Huye Stadium in Rwanda.
Walter Musona floated a free kick over the Nigerian wall of defence and beat a hapless Francis Uzoho in goal in the 26th minute to give the Zimbabweans the lead.
Kelechi Iheanacho would later salvage the situation for the Super Eagles, when he scrambled home a goal in the 67th minute after receiving a pass from Simon Moses.
Nigeria earlier last Thursday played a 1-1 draw with Lesotho in Uyo in their first game of the series. With the result on Sunday, Nigeria with just two points from two matches are now second behind South Africa.
Super Eagle’s next match in the series is against the table topper, South Africa on June 5 next year after which they will make a short trip to face Benin Republic
